Originally founded in 1998, as Modern Construction USA Inc., our company quickly developed a reputation for quality workmanship. Several years later, to accommodate the growth of operations and equipment, we relocated to the site of an expansive, high-volume hot-mix asphalt production plant — in the process adding Superior Asphalt as a new division.

HISTORY & GROWTH
For several years, Modern Construction USA and Superior Asphalt both operated successfully under the expertise of a team of skilled construction and asphalt professionals. We later shifted fully to the Superior Asphalt name with a dedicated focus on the paving and asphalt sector. In 2021, we became part of the Municipal Group of Companies, an Atlantic Canadian based organization anchored by Dexter Construction. As such, we soon established additional Florida operations under the Dexter name: with two plants in Brooksville and Leesburg, Dexter Construction Florida is a recognized asphalt producer, sharing a close partnership with Superior’s paving teams located in Bradenton.
